When and how did you start working for Ethos Health?
I started working with Ethos almost five years ago when I wanted work closer to home (I was previously working in sports physiotherapy on the Central Coast).
Sports physiotherapy experience was essential for the Ethos role, so I fitted the bill!
Describe your role in one sentence.
Enabling people to function better, have less pain or both. My role includes clinic work at the Newcastle practice, weekends at the Emergency Department
at Lake Macquarie Private Hospital, home visits through the Rehab at Home program and workplace consulting services.
What’s the best part of your job?
There are lots of good things about it! I like the combination of needing to use problem solving, scientific reasoning and utilising good communication
skills to get a positive outcome for each client.
What do you enjoy outside of work?
Any type of sport. I play hockey, run, go to the gym and go surfing.
What do you do to stay healthy?
Get lots of exercise and good sleep.
Any health tips?
For any healthy habits – the more you do it, the easier it gets.
Who does the cooking at home?
Not usually me!
Would you share a recipe?
Banana Oat Smoothie
Good for early starts, like when leaving for the mines at 5am!
Make this the night before and leave in the fridge, then it’s ready to grab as you head for the door.
- 1 Banana
- 1.5 cup of milk
- 1/3 cup of oats
- A touch of ground cinnamon
