The organisation
Bathurst Regional Council delivers a broad range of services and facilities across the Bathurst LGA. They employ around 450 staff members who serve a population of 44,000 people and receive more than 1 million visitors annually.
The challenge
The council had recognised that a range of work tasks were contributing to increased injury risk in their workforce. With roles ranging from childcare, hospitality, and administration to construction, waste, and water, Council needed an effective injury-prevention solution that could be tailored to individuals’ unique job demands.

The solution
Ethos Health delivered a solution which was made up of the following 3 stages:
Stage 1: Comprehensive assessment of high-risk roles across physical, psychosocial and environmental domains, and risk reduction recommendations, plus role familiarisation visits for lower-risk activities
Step 2: Contextualise training packages for each role
Step 3: Interactive and participative MoveSAFE small group training, helping participants identify, control and manage injury risk in their day-to-day work.
The outcome
Ethos Health identified and implemented practical solutions to reduce injury risk from higher-risk roles at Bathurst council and all staff attended training contextualised to their usual work and learned practical skills to reduce injuries at work.
