Ethos Health has partnered with nib to offer a preventative hip and knee osteoarthritis program funded through your Extras benefits. This program is for people who may be at risk of developing hip or knee osteoarthritis. There are several risk factors associated with osteoarthritis that can be identified and changed or modified to reduce a person’s risk. This program aims to identify people who may have these modifiable risk factors so that treatment can start as early as possible. This may help prevent the onset of the pain and loss of function associated with osteoarthritis and improve a person’s quality of life.
What’s included in the program:
- One online assessment to identify people who may be at risk of developing hip or knee osteoarthritis.
- One yearly clinic assessment to identify specific modifiable risk factors in people at risk of developing hip or knee osteoarthritis. If risk factors are identified, treatment will be prescribed targeted at those factors. A physiotherapist will perform the in-clinic assessment and treatment.
