WesTrac, one of the world’s largest Caterpillar equipment dealers, employs over 4,500 people across New South Wales, the ACT, and Western Australia. Recognising the importance of safety and employee wellbeing, WesTrac wanted to equip their NSW/ACT workforce — spanning 17 sites — with the knowledge, skills, and resources to proactively recognise and manage fatigue risk.
Partnering with WesTrac, Ethos Health delivered 57 Fatigue Awareness Training sessions across the state of NSW. These engaging and interactive workshops help employees identify workplace and personal fatigue risks, understand the contributing factors, and take practical steps to prevent fatigue-related incidents, supporting WesTrac’s safety values: “looking out for me and my mates.”
The challenge
With a large and dispersed workforce operating across multiple sites and shift schedules, WesTrac faced the challenge of ensuring that employees could recognise and respond proactively to fatigue — a key risk to both individual and workplace safety.
The organisation needed a program that would:
- Educate staff on the early signs and causes of fatigue
- Provide practical strategies to manage both personal and workplace-related fatigue risks
- Align with regulatory obligations and workplace safety expectations
- Foster a culture of transparency, responsibility, and proactive risk management
WesTrac required a scalable, engaging solution that could reach all employees and embed fatigue awareness as a core component of workplace safety.

Ethos Health designed and delivered Fatigue Awareness Training, a structured, interactive workshop series.
