Obese workers take 88 per cent more sick leave

The link between work absences and obesity is well established, further supported by a recent German study that has proven that obese workers take up to 88 per cent more sick leave than ‘normal weight workers’.

Ethos Health runs a workplace weight loss program called RAPID. It is a very successful program with high engagement by workforces.

Our most recent results have been from a local blue collar organisation. All five crews are participating in the challenge however only one crew has finished so far. In this crew participants lost on average 5.4% of their weight in just 6 weeks! The individual winner had a weight loss of a staggering 16kg…in just 6 weeks!
